Join Mike Demchik, Ph.D. and Tigerton Lumber Co. as we follow three trees from standing stock to milled wood. In this workshop we will explore how defects move through a log by evaluating the standing stock of three species, cutting them down, merchandising and grading the down logs, and milling them on site. Throughout this process we will discuss:
- log grading
- standing stock grading
- internal rate of return
- milling
- grading and scaling of lumber
