Gaining Ground – Soil as a Renewable Resource?

May 20, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

The soil health nexus for their soil health digital cafe series.

Can health of a degraded soil be regenerated? We use the term ‘regenerative agriculture,’ but what does it mean and does science suggest degraded soils can realistically be brought back to original productivity levels?  If it can, how long will it take? Tune in to hear from Rick Cruse of the Iowa Water Center as he discusses the time required to potentially regenerate components of a healthy soil and identify the most critical soil degradation processes common with today’s agriculture.
