The Role of Birds on the Farm Course: Lesson 8 – Farmscape and Landscape Features
Upon successfully completing this lesson, participants will be able to:
- Explain why farms with semi-natural and natural habitat support more avian pest control than intensive farms.
- Recommend hedgerows and edge habitat for supporting beneficial birds.
- Discuss with farmers or neighbors the different types of vegetative habitat.
- Recommend funding sources for establishing and conserving bird habitat.
