Exploring Small Grains for Forage and Options for Portable Watering

September 9, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Are you a young grazier wanting to explore integrating small grains for forage and other uses? How about options for portable watering systems when you are grazing remote pastures? Are you a seasoned grazier with direct experience and/or connections relevant to these topics that could help a beginning grazier get going? Hop on the Online Pasture Talk featuring Nicollet grazier Dan Coffman. Dan will share his experiences incorporating Kernza and a heritage winter wheat in fall 2019 into his crop rotation to diversify, build soil, produce grain, and provide grazing forage for livestock. Dan also plans to walk us through his innovative mobile watering system he converted from an old silage wagon that can also store portable fencing supplies, tools, and approximately 20 hay bales.
