Can a Landowner Make Money Raising Grassfed Beef?

September 8, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 pm

Free

This webinar’s presenter is Jim Munsch who was contracted by Trout Unlimited.  Land use decisions significantly affect soil loss and runoff. The effect is pronounced in the three-state Driftless Area.  Managed grazing and long-term ground cover are strong mitigators of erosion, but can those land use decisions have positive financial outcomes? Both of these practices are integral to the raising of grassfed beef. We studied the financial outcomes for a dozen farms in the Driftless Area who are raising grassfed beef with the goal of answering that question. This webinar will show the results of that study, point to “best practices” used by these producers, and point to methods that will help a wider group of cattle enterprises.
