SUMMARY:Managing Tribal Fisheries and Employees on the Reservation
DESCRIPTION:Tribal natural resource management agencies continue to provide employment opportunities within the fisheries field\, and while much is known about Western ways of managing fisheries\, native culture and its views on fishery management are largely unknown to non-natives. In this presentation\, we give guidance on how to prepare to work for tribe\, effectively manage employees\, create fishery regulations\, and more. We also discuss native culture\, Treaty Rights\, history\, and modern day tribal governance/sovereignty.
