SUMMARY:Introduction to High Tunnels in Organic Systems
DESCRIPTION:Participate in this webinar to learn about general organic management practices in high tunnel systems. This first in a three-part series focused on organic management of high tunnels will provide a general introduction including various high tunnel structures. Participants will learn the differences between open field and high tunnel production and then provide an overview of general management practices include nutrients\, weeds\, insect pests\, and irrigation. We will conclude with a summary of the challenges in these systems and a preview of the two future webinars in the series. \nLearn more here.

SUMMARY:Understanding Racial Equity and Inclusion in Conservation
DESCRIPTION:In this special interactive workshop\, we’ll work to better understand racial inequities\, and especially ways in which inequities have existed in the field of conservation. August Ball\, founder and CEO of Cream City Conservation\, will present on the history and concepts behind racial inequities and lead our interactive discussion. August will challenge us to look at race on personal and societal levels to help us integrate diversity\, equity\, and inclusion into our work. \nRegister here.

SUMMARY:Conservation Innovation Grants: Water Quality
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will feature two successful water quality projects supported by the Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) program. The CIG program was established to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies for U.S. producers on farms\, ranches\, and forest land. CIG projects lead to the transfer of conservation technologies\, management systems\, and innovative approaches to agriculture producers and the private sector. In addition\, the projects often help NRCS with updating or changing manuals and guides\, and modernizing conservation standards. In general\, the program will fund pilot projects\, demonstrations\, and research. Presenters will describe their projects\, the lessons learned about the various technologies demonstrated\, and provide suggestions for how NRCS can use the information learned to assist livestock producers with water quality issues. \nFind more information here.
