During each rotation of a planted forest, landowners have a single opportunity to choose the appropriate genetics for their long-term investment. We encourage forest landowners to plant the best genetic quality seedlings possible. The benefits from establishing highly productive families, in combination with good silvicultural practices, will result in large financial returns.
An extensive literature review was conducted, and an expert panel was convened to identify and rank behaviors that could reduce the risks of AIS spread by people. Through targeted surveys and engagement with stakeholders, the factors that are important to a successful program to change behaviors in Minnesota were identified.
In this special interactive workshop, we'll work to better understand racial inequities, and especially ways in which inequities have existed in the field of conservation.
